About the Author
Stan and Jan Berenstain were already successful cartoonists for magazines and adult humor books when they began writing children's books. The first story starring the bear family, The Big Honey Hunt, appeared in 1962. Since then, more than 370 Berenstain Bears books have been published, and more than 300 million copies have been sold. What began as an idea sparked by their young sons' love of reading has become over the years arguably the best-selling children's book series ever.Since their inception, the Berenstain Bears stories have expanded to include picture books, beginning readers, and chapter books--even a hit TV show on PBS. Writing and illustrating the books has become a Berenstain family affair. Mike joined with his parents as a creative team in the late 1980s. The Bear family has expanded over the years as well. My daughters (ages 3 and 6) are big fans of the Berenstain Bears. We have several of their books and they choose them often for their bedtime stories. They surprised me with this book for Father's Day this year and it was great. They were so excited to show it to me and we all read it together.It is a fun story about how the cubs want to do something nice for Papa, so they follow him around and find out all of the jobs that he does around the house. They make a bunch of gift certificates so that Papa can trade them in for a break from his chores. They are so excited to give Papa the gift on Father's Day and can't wait to wake him up to show him. Papa is surprised too and is all to eager to cash in his new gift certificates. Papa gets a much needed rest (sort of) and ends up having a great day with his cubs.Overall, this was a great story to read with my girls. It was entertaining and had a fun message of taking care of dad. It made a great Father's Day gift for me. Highly Recommended!
LOVE all the Berenstain books! Especially this one which I gave to my grandsons for Valentine's gift...their mommy loved it too - brings back memories of HER Mom (that's me!) reading the Berenstain Bears series of books to her as a child! They are well written & adorably illustrated...Hope MY grandsons will read these to their kids one day!
This was a great purchase for Father’s Day. My toddler drew a picture in the front cover and I traced both kids’ hands on the inside of the back cover. My husband loved it!
Bit pricey for a small kids book but its expected. I am not much of a fan but my wife is so got it for her to bring back childhood memories and for her to read it to the kids.
My grand daughter loves these books so I bouhjt this one for her to give to her daddy.
Bought it for father day. Very cute my husband read it to our kids and I added pictures very cute.
Love Berenstein Bears books and all the great lessons they teach. I loved them as a child and am thankful I can read them to my children as well.
