The story telling was compelling and the lessons taught were great. I'm glad I read it along with my son as we can not talk about the story together. I've already used situations from the series to relate to events in my son's life to help him be determined to do right anyway and to keep going when he is challenged and ready to quit.
I thought she finished the series. But she didn't. I am glad thay she didn't because she opened my eyes on somethings that is so deep in the spirit realm that we do not even think of it with our tiny minds!!
Although this is a children's book (and I am 66), I loved it! The book is one in a series and I have them all now.I appreciated that while the story was fiction, it did align with the spiritual war we are in with the super natural, every day. And as the children in the book were encouraged to "Follow the way of the Armor", the principles about what that means are principles we need to know. (and do). Great series. I have shared my books and given the series away as a gift.
I bought this whole series for my teenage grandson, and had to read them myself first :D These books, like C.S. Lewis's Chronicles of Narnia, are excellent stories, keeping one engaged and eager to turn the page, but they are not just stories. There are deep spiritual lessons to be mined, for adults as well as kids. A well told story is perhaps the best way for an intellectual principle to be absorbed emotionally, with one's heart. These stories do that amazingly well. I highly recommend them.
We loved the three prior books in this series, but Winter War is our favorite! Priscilla Shirer does an amazing job of making the unseen battle raging around us very real to young readers. We're so thankful she decided to write this sequel!
This is a great series. We have all the books and love them. I've read them all with my son who just turned 13 and he loves them too. We couldn't wait to get this one when it came out!
My daughter has the whole series including the devotional and loves them all and has read them all more than once
This was a Christmas gift for our son. He's read the first three books and was anxiously awaiting the release of this one. It didn't disappoint! He read it cover to cover in a few days - and then started over with the first book and read the entire series again! Highly recommend this series along with the devotional!
